A good crowd gathered at Boston University's Demonstration Room for an evening of Japanese cooking and tasting.

Two cooks prepared omelettes and savory pancakes (okonomiyaki), and they had the hardest time keeping up with the demand for these delicacies.

Arranged around the room were food stations, where all guests had the opportunity to prepare their own rice balls, (onigiri) and rice stuffed fried tofu skin pockets (oinarisan).

A very skilled lady prepared the most beautiful Halloween themed Bento Boxes, the kind of lunch preparations she makes every day for her husband and children to take to work and school.

The proceeds of the evening went to the Tablefor2 organization, which provides healthy school meals to children in need.

Thank you Debra for inviting us to this memorable event.

It was "abbondanza" at Joyce's who treated us to an authentic Italian lunch of salad, meatballs and sausage, pasta with tomato sauce, chicken marsala, green beans and cannoli.  Thank you, Joyce, for sharing your recipes!

What fun we had! The weather on Sunday was picture perfect for a walk on the Freedom Trail discovering clues about the rich history of Boston! Thank you all for your enthusiasm and for getting into the game !

Team 1 - the Global Geeks, was led by Darina's intrepid husband Michael.

Team 2 - the Culture Cats, was led by the fearless Renate.

Both teams gathered on Boston Common for a group picture. Then, Team 2 left first followed by Team 1 about 15 minutes later.

A clue along the way: Sam Adam's tombstone.

The winning team based on total time taken
and number of attempts at correct answers.

    Everyone is a winner !
Cheers and bottoms up at a local Irish Pub in the North End!

    Thank you everyone for participating!
    Warm regards,
    Lalitha
