740 AM has world news in French from 7-9 a.m.

Newspapers and magazines:
The Boston Public Library on Copley Square has a subscription to many newspapers from around the country and the world. Check out their newspaper room.
Out of Town News on Harvard Square in Cambridge may have the foreign newspaper or magazine you are looking for.
Barnes and Noble and Borders Bookstores sell some foreign magazines in their larger city locations.

Books:
The Boston Public Library has a large collection of books in foreign languages. Anyone resident in Massachusetts can get a card to borrow books, or your local library may be able to order them for you through an excellent inter-library loan program. Boston Libraries can also provide you with free tickets for museums.
