Dear Friends,
The upcoming Thursday February 9th Exchange Cultural program at the Brookline Library is going to be a very unique event. Please do come and show your support!

Our own Iko Burn’s daughter-in-law Kalianne’s Mom, Mrs. Wen, danced for the Royal Family of Cambodia as a young girl. Mrs. Wen has kindly agreed to do a dance for us following which she will be showing us the steps to a folk dance that we can all join in. What a treat!
Kalianne has graciously agreed to be the interpreter for her mother who will talk about her life growing up in Phnom Penh before the Khmer Rouge took over at which point she and her husband had to flee from the country. There will be an opportunity for discussion and asking questions.
I have only heard from 8 people so far. Five are attending and three cannot. Please RSVP to my email ASAP and let me know if you are coming (or not) and what dish you will be bringing to the Potluck. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!

The Lunch Bunch was great fun today! As usual, Doris did a great job organizing the event. Those of you who missed the Athenaeum tour should really consider visiting this amazing building which houses so much art, history and so many books, some of which are rare and valuable.

To my delight, the last few events have drawn larger crowds. It’s always more fun to visit a museum, explore a new venue or share a meal with friends. Special thanks to my friends who always find time to join the Lunch Bunch Group.

I love the JFK library but donot make it as often due to the location. Enjoyed the dim sum and of course the company . Thanks Doris for another fun event.

Well, I definitely have the holiday spirit after tasting all those delicious cookies. We had a wonderful time and lots of different cookies to sample. Many thanks to Francoise for hosting this cooking class and Ines for posting the recipes and pictures on our website. Also, thanks everyone for bringing cookies to share! Hope to see everyone at the Holiday Party.

Another great day with the “Lunch Bunch”. The JFK library was very interesting . Then lunching on dim sum in Chinatown was delicious. I think that I am actually starting to learn to use chopsticks! Thanks Doris for coordinating yet another perfect day!

Hi Ladies,

At the last cultural event on Japanese weddings, 2 of you kindly volunteered to speak about Halloween in the US and in Canada and one of you graciously volunteered to talk about the history behind the Halloween tradition. I unfortunately did not write down the names of those who volunteered. I have not heard from anyone yet. Can you kindly send me an email to remind me who you are? Thank you!
